Description

The card issuer has declined the transaction because the current card has been replaced with a new one. The old card number is no longer valid.

Recommended Action

Ask the customer to provide their new card number.

Common Causes

  • Card was reissued with a new number (lost/stolen replacement, upgrade, etc.)
  • Old card number has been deactivated

Recovery Tips

  • Use Account Updater to automatically fetch new card credentials
  • Send a dunning email asking the customer to update their payment method with the new card
